It is widely used for three-phase DC brushless motor drives for garden tools, electric vehicles, power tools, etc.
The CMS6164D is a three-phase, medium voltage, high-speed gate driver IC designed as a bridge circuit using dual N-channel, VDMOS power transistors or IGBTs for brushless and brushed DC motor applications.
The CMS6164D controls the high-side drive circuit output (HO) and the low-side drive circuit output (LO) respectively via the input signals (HIN, LIN). The built-in 300ns dead time is the minimum dead time, when the output signal dead time of the MCU is greater than the built-in dead time, the actual dead time is the dead time set by the MCU. Built-in VCC, VBS undervoltage lockout (UVLO) function prevents the system from turning on external power transistors at low drive voltage.
> Floating absolute voltage: +200V
> Supply voltage operating range: 7~20V
> Built-in VCC, VBS undervoltage lockout (UVLO) for protection
> Built-in pass-through prevention function
> Built-in 300ns dead time
> High-end and low-end channel matching
> Outputs in phase with inputs
> Built-in pull-down resistors on input pins
> Input voltage: 3.3V, 5V are logical compatible
> High-Peak current output capability
> Peak output current: 1.0A@15V, rising time with 3.3nF load: 32ns
> Peak input current: 2.1A@15V, falling time with 3.3nF load: 20ns
