【New Product Release】Cmsemicon Launches CMS32M67 Series for Eco-Friendly Cycling Applications

Recently, China Micro Semicon Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Cmsemicon, stock code: 688380) announced the official launch of the CMS32M67 motor control series microcontrollers, featuring a new upgrade based on the Arm Cortex®-M0+ core. This series is fully applicable to applications such as smart home devices, green transportation, white goods, power tools, and industrial motor controls.

 

The CMS32M67 motor control series microcontrollers feature enhanced processing capabilities, rich internal resources, and peripheral characteristics. Supported by mature and reliable solutions, they effectively address the requirements of high reliability, precision, and complex industrial motor control applications.

Rich Resources for High Reliability

 

Cmsemicon offers a wide range of motor control microcontroller products tailored to different development environments and motor types, aiming to provide comprehensive, mass-production-ready, one-stop solutions to help customers simplify and accelerate development processes. The CMS32M67 series includes four models: CMS32M6710, CMS32M6736E, CMS32MEBK2, and CMS32M6734. These models are characterized by their single-chip design, high integration, reliability, performance, cost-effectiveness, and support for various types of motor control applications. Among them, the CMS32M6710 focuses on stability and high reliability, available in LQFP48 and QFN32 package forms to flexibly meet diverse application requirements.

Iterative Upgrades Supporting Multiple Applications

 

Building upon the CMS32M5710, Cmsemicon successfully developed the CMS32M6710. The CMS32M6710 utilizes the Arm Cortex®-M0+ core, operates at a frequency of 72 MHz, and features built-in ±1.5% high-precision internal oscillators. It integrates 4-channel pre-stage filtering, a programmable differential PGA with sampling and hold, one DAC, two comparators, high-precision reference voltage, and a 1.2 Msps ADC among its analog resources. Additionally, it includes dedicated interfaces for Hall and 32-bit counters, supporting direct Hall effect outputs with input filtering. The rich resource integration and peripheral configuration help enhance overall solution reliability while reducing external component count and lowering overall BOM costs.

The CMS32M6710 operates within an industrial-grade temperature range of -40°C to +105°C, offering advanced safety features including IEC60730 ClassB certification, over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, and error detection capabilities to halt motor operation in case of faults, ensuring stable and reliable system operation. The performance improvements of the CMS32M6710 cater to space-constrained and complex industrial control applications such as high-speed fans, floor fans, bedroom fans, handheld tools (with an integrated control system), bicycles, and washing machines.

 

Cmsemicon provides a rich product portfolio for motor development innovation, including the CMS32M6736E and CMS32M6734 series based on the CMS32M6710 SoC, offering advantages such as high integration, cost-effectiveness, low substitutability, and rich functionalities to flexibly support customers in building comprehensive and refined motor control solutions.

 

Development Support

 

The CMS32M67 series offers comprehensive development support, with the accompanying EVB already synchronized for release. The EVB includes the CMS debugger CMS-ICE8-OB with reserved debugging interfaces, and chip pins are led to test interfaces, facilitating quick testing and connectivity for customers.

To help customers launch concepts rapidly, the CMS32M67 series includes auxiliary toolkits suited to various fields. These tools enable rapid evaluation of motor control systems, motor debugging, and adjustment of motor and operating parameters without programming, resulting in faster mass production ready.

 

Product Status

 

Samples of the CMS32M67 series are currently available, with full-scale production scheduled for Q2 2024, at which time it will deliver higher reliability solutions to accelerate chip evaluation and solution development processes for customers.
