[New Release] Low-Power Bluetooth SoC recently launched by Cmsemicon Simplifies IoT Smart Device

Cmsemicon officially launched BAT32WB35, a high-performance, low-power, Bluetooth 5.0 Standard(SoC) single-mode Bluetooth chip. The BAT32WB35 is designed to simplify the design of low-power Bluetooth, with advantage of secure and reliable data transmission, sensitive reception, long range, low power consumption and convenient use, mainly for smart home, IoT, portable medical, personal care and health, human-machine interface and Bluetooth indoor positioning.

Based on ultra-low power consumption, high speed, long distance, low cost, strong anti-interference ability, high network security, intelligent control and other characteristics,  low-power Bluetooth are faced with huge growth space. According to the Bluetooth Technology Alliance's "2021 Bluetooth Market Update" report, it is expected that by 2025, the annual shipment of Bluetooth devices will increase to 6.4 billion units.

 

With high-speed transmission, support bluetooth 5.0 certification

 

The BAT32WB35 can easily interconnects with smartphone, tablet PC and laptop and supports high-speed data transmission, suitable for IoT data collection, processing and remote control, providing developers with a convenient implementation path for low-power wireless connectivity for the IoT.

 

BAT32WB35 is based on ARM® Cortex®-M0+ ultra-low power core with 64MHz main frequency, 64KB Flash, built-in 8KB SRAM, 1KB Data Flash, and integrated BLE 5.0 Bluetooth function, which can provide convenient options for device networking. The BAT32WB35 can be used to develop embedded Bluetooth applications more easily and quickly in order to shorten the development cycle.

 

Ultra-low power consumption and high sensitivity

 

In terms of power control, the BAT32WB35 has a super power-saving standby mode and can be freely switched between multiple power-saving modes, with a current of only 1µA to meet the needs of low-power applications. BAT32WB35 is battery-powered, and an ordinary coin cell battery can last for over a year of battery life.

BAT32WB35 integrates RF transceiver with excellent performance, simple development, high sensitivity, transmit power up to +5dBm, supporting 2Mbps high-speed mode and receiving sensitivity of -94dBm @1Mbps mode, transmission distance can reach 80 meters. BAT32WB35 also provides abundant peripherals, such as 12bit high-speed ADC, PWM, comparator, RTC, DMA, I2C, SPI, UART, LIN, IrDA and other multi-channel communication interfaces, built-in temperature sensor, hardware multiplier, hardware CRC check. Its safety performance conforms to IEC/UL 60730 related standards.

 

BAT32WB35 has a voltage range of 1.8-3.6V and a temperature range of -40-85℃, in 5×5mm QFN40 package, adapt to the miniaturization of IoT devices development needs, with these characteristics it can help customers to reduce the physical size of PCB board and reduce the total system cost.

 

Bluetooth Modules Make Rapid Development Possible

 

Based on the demand of rapid development, Cmsemicon also released the Bluetooth module based on BAT32WB35. The module integrates a low-cost on-board antenna with excellent RF performance and can achieve transmission up to 80m signal range.

 

Easily used, provide a complete development kit

 

In terms of ease of use, Cmsemicon provides professional customization services and flexible tool chain support based on different design needs of developers, including complete SDK development kits, detailed development documentation manuals, Keil MDK, IAR, GCC and other tool support. It as well provides development evaluation board BAT32WB35-EVB, which effectively helps developers reduce development costs and ensure compatibility, and significantly shortening the time to market for various Bluetooth applications.

 

To help developers better develop based on the BAT32WB35,  Cmsemicon also launched the BAT32WB35-EVB development kit and mass production tool CMS-WRITER8 to help developers quickly get started and complete the environment build. 

 

According to Cmsemicon, the next generation of IoT devices need Bluetooth product series with lower power consumption, higher speed and more stable transmission. Based on the advantages of convenient development, BAT32WB35 will be widely used in the IoT field in the future . Currently, the mass production prototype of BAT32WB35 is ready for free application and is expected to be available in volume in Q4 of 2021.
