At the Home Appliance Power and Intelligent Control Technology Innovation Seminar on October 29, 2020 in Ningbo, Mr. Liao Liang, Director of Application Development Department of CMSemicon, shared a keynote speech entitled "MCU with High Performance Helps Home Appliance Become More Intelligent", focusing on the challenges being faced in home appliance intelligence upgrade and IoT low power consumption. Also, he stated the cutting-edge products and technology solutions launched by CMSemicon to adapt to the tendency of home appliance’s intelligence, integration, miniaturization and low power consumption.

Mr. Liao said: CMSemicon focuses on mixed-signal SoC innovation and R&D, providing products and service support covering home appliances, brushless motors, wireless interconnection, new energy, intelligent security, industrial control, automotive and other application areas, including RISC core CMS79F/CMS89F series that help home appliances achieve high performance and high immunity, 8051 core CMS80F series with high speed and high sensitivity, BAT32G series that meet ultra-low power requirements, and motor-specific SoCs with high efficiency, high reliability and flexible matching.


Ultra-low standby power consumption improves home appliance applications


To meet the ultra-low-power requirements of smart home appliances and other device developers, the BAT32G helps customers effectively address the needs and concerns of ultra-low power consumption, high integration, security and protection with outstanding performance such as deep sleep mode as low as 0.4uA (data hold, any interrupt can be woken up) and run mode as low as 35uA/MHz (multiplication operation) and 75uA/MHz (full instruction operation). protection, etc


Touchscreen promotes new upgrades of smart home appliances


Touch buttons have been almost fully applied in smart home appliance. Based on CMS79FT capacitance-free touch series chips, CMSemicon has developed different solutions like spaced touch, slider touch, touch proximity sensing, touch water detection, etc., providing new touchscreen application options for various small home appliances.


Motor SoC leads core technology development


It is known that the motor is one of the main components of home appliances. Home appliances like microwave ovens, water heaters, televisions, washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, all need to improve motor efficiency to effectively save energy and reduce emissions. The motor SoC products and solutions provided by CMSemicon are widely used in different fields such as smart home appliances, white goods, power tools, garden tools, electric bicycles, etc. with different motor-specific chip combinations. The solutions use SVPWM space voltage vector modulation technology with smaller harmonic components and torque pulsation.
